Working models.
My understanding of what happens for an individual going through a traumatic experience and how that could transfer to post-traumatic consequences is grounded in two key models. One is neuropsychiatrist Daniel Siegel's proposal for understanding mental health and the healing process as 'integration'. I use Daniel Siegel's understanding of the therapeutic process through the ways integration unfolds in several domains of human experience. The other - is science-based, non-pathologizing, safe and efficient procedures of the Instinctual Trauma Response model (the ITR model), developed by my teachers art therapist Linda Gantt and psychiatrist Luis Tinnin. I use the ITR model as ground-work for screening and intervention for many clients I see, in cases when traumatization is hidden in the background of presenting concerns.

I work with adults and families, with trauma history, ranging from single instance trauma to repeated or chronic traumatization. Developmental timing of my clients' trauma varies too, from preverbal to very recent -  affecting them in a range of post-traumatic consequences or thwarted potnetial; not necessarily requiring a diagnosis, and with space for considerable improvement and growth.
